Speech Structure: Building the Body

The task is to write the outline for one of the performances. I’ve chosen the 1^st speech that is by Grift_the_power_of_passion_and_perseverance  by Angela Lee Duckworth.  

Purpose Statement: The purpose of this speech is to inform the audience of the positive effect of grit

Introduction:

1. In education the one thing we know how to  measure best is IQ

2.  Your life depends not only on your ability to learn quickly and easily

3. Motivation and psychological perspectives matter in education

Body

1.The main thing in education that helps to succeed  

A. Physiological research in schools and private companies in order to understand what is the important in one’s education

B.  Grit as a significant predictor of success

a    a) Grit is a passion and perseverance  for long-term goals

b) Grit is living life like it’s a marathon, not a sprint 

C. Grit Questionnaires in school

a).  grittier kids were significant more likely to graduate

2. How little science knows about building the grit

A. talent doesn’t play an important role in making student grittier

3. Growth mindset as a way of building the grit

A. The ability to learn can be changed with one’s effort

B. The students have to believe that failure is not a permanent condition

Conclusion

We need our to be gritty about our kids getting grittier
